DREAMWIDTH FRIENDING MEME

Heyo!

So after a few plurk discussions, the want to start journaling again a la Livejounal came up a few different places, and this idea was born!

We ask if you participate, that you attempt to post 1-3 time a week, and comment as much as possible to help jump start personal journaling here on dreamwidth. And if you use your journal already (or if you start from here) we'd love a link back to this meme! The more the merrier!

You can also follow this community for both daily writing prompts and a monthly friending meme!

To participate, copy and paste this in a comment, fill it out, and go make some friends!

I have kind of an obsession with "all that personality junk" haha (seriously, give me a personality typing system and I will analyse forever... also, INFJ for the record.)

I want to hear more about this pack of wolves.

Same gosh, I really love things that help you go "yes, that's me!" (I'm also a ravenclaw, if we're getting Potter-y)

And it was a small pack of about four in a sanctuary, and we went in their enclosure and one of them was so affectionate with just me?? giant pupper

Slytherin for me if we're going Potter style, though I debated between that and Ravenclaw for years and only decided because a chocolate frog told me.

That sounds adorable! I love how similar wild dogs and cats can be to their domestic counterparts.

Me, too, it's adorable (like big cats sitting in boxes, aha - )

Gosh I've been a Ravenclaw for the longest with a short stint in Gryffindor - thanks Pottermore 1.0 - until I took the test again when it revamped and was back at home with the birbs

Pottermore 1.0 liked to miscatergorise people as Gryffindor. I had to go back through the test a couple times until I managed to get something else, and then it called me Slytherin. The new version had me as Slytherin to start with. Ravenclaw is just where people tend to expect me to be, unless they look at my roleplay characters, haha.

Funny thing there with me, I tend to play Hufflepuffs! It's actually my favorite house ;w;

And whoa I didn't know that about Pottermore! I'm glad they fixed that, then... D:

I don't honestly know how much of a widespread issue that was, but I do know I'm not the only one who got Gryffindor and looked at it like "...I could see myself in multiple houses and that is not one of them."

Maybe if I have friends interested I'll keep at it more studiously, sob - but yes! I've taken Japanese and German, but fell out of it a few years ago, and now I'm trying to get back to something I can survive with

That's really cool! German is my first language, so if you ever get stuck, let me know. And I'm thinking about picking Japanese back up, though I never got very far with it...

Anyway, def adding you!

Hello fellow INTP! I am intrigued by this and would like to hear more about your feelings on TOS and Star Trek in General *nods*
chambery: (fascinating)

[personal profile] chambery 2017-01-13 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
I'm honestly very bad at articulating myself, aa - but TOS has my heart because it's the first of the series I've actively pursued. And come on it's TOS - it's a lot of fun, the plots still ring with importance, and I adore the entire cast (especially Spock, my darling, green child - and Uhura's a fantastic role model for people like me).

I grew up with Trek in the background, my dad watched The Next Generation a lot when I was a kid, so there's a real nostalgic feeling that comes with the series overall for me. I'm actually getting back to my roots and trying to watch TNG myself and I'm really enjoying it! I'd like to watch the entire franchise if I can, I'm borrowing it bits at a time from my library.

As for the reboot movies? Eh, I like them, they're flashy and fast - but Beyond definitely makes up for the first two's faults imo (it gave us Jaylah ♥)

A++++ reasoning there. I grew up with Trek myself, mostly Next Gen, DS9, and Voyager. Dad's a Kirk fan and Mom's a Picard fan and all their kids are somewhere in the realm of agreement there. I'll take any of them, but I have a preference for Sisko.

The first reboot movie I sort of adored. The second less so, and I have Beyond to watch but I haven't gotten there just yet (maybe this weekend!)

So far I'm actually really loving Picard as a captain enough to give Jim a run for his money ( /w\) And please do see Beyond! It feels more like the episodes did, if that makes sense?

I'd love to talk Trek more often - friends, you think?

...Will definitely be watching it this weekend. You've convinced me. Hee, I do love Jean-Luc.

And yes! Definitely friends. I love talking about Trek and pretty much anything else.
